philosophy

We never forget that your wedding day is probably the most important day of your life.

With this in mind, we won't try to run your wedding or interrupt important moments. We will make suggestions when appropriate but for the most part we will try to stay out of your way so that you can enjoy your wedding.

Our goal is to warmly document authentic interactions and joy at weddings without interfering or manufacturing photographs that look staged or fake.

We love photographing weddings and so do our assistants. We do everything in our power to provide our clients with creative, thoughtful, and genuine photographs.

Retouching is an integral part of modern wedding photography, but we strive for a timeless look that will be appreciated by generations to come. We try to avoid photoshop trends that might look dated in the future.

Each wedding is as unique as the people who are getting married, and we take great care to bring each couple's individuality into their wedding photography.

q & a

Here are 10 questions you should ask your wedding photographer:

1. Should I set up a meeting with you before booking you?
If possible, we think that it’s a great idea to meet your photographer before booking. Try to find someone who is relaxed, talented, experienced, and has a good sense of humor. Your photographer’s personality will show up in your wedding photos in the expressions of your family and friends. Of course, it’s not always possible to get together…We've been booked by brides everywhere from London to Austin. At the very least, try to have a phone interview.

2. Do you have sample albums that I can view?
Sure, just call or email us and we’ll set up a time to get together so that you can check them out. We work with lots of different album companies, from contemporary to traditional, so you're sure to find an album that's perfect for you.

3. Will I receive high resolution jpgs without your logo watermark on them? Can I do whatever I want with them for my own uses?
Yes, and yes. Feel free to make your own prints to your heart's content.

4. What happens if your camera breaks on the day of my wedding? Does your back-up camera produce the same size files as your main camera?
Not to worry, we’ve got lots of back up cameras and lenses. Our back-up cameras produce the same incredible 22 megapixel files that our main cameras do. (each photo is big enough to print a billboard if you so desire) For those who are technically inclined, we always shoot RAW format.

5. If I book you, who actually shows up to photograph my wedding?
Sunny Miller shows up with at least one experienced second photographer.

6. What happens if you get sick and can’t photograph my wedding?
Well, I’d have to be really, really sick for that to happen. But if it did, I have a staff of very talented photographers who can fill in for me at a moment's notice.

7. Do you have a contract that I can take a look at?
You bet. We think that it’s a great idea for our clients to know exactly what to expect from us (and vice versa). Each contact is customized according to the options that are desired and is presented when we get together. Please contact me via the "contact" tab and we will email it to you.

8. How long will it take for my photos to be online after my wedding?
We usually have them up within 3-4 weeks.

9. What do you and your assistants wear when you photograph weddings?
We always wear pressed suits, ties, and pressed shirts. We take great pride in our work and our appearance. (if your wedding has a more casual theme, we are happy to dress down in order to fit in)

10. How would you describe your approach to photographing wedding?
Creative photojournalism. Artistic documentary. Beautiful Authenticity. For our crew, wedding photography is all about capturing genuine moments while making suggestions to brides and grooms along the way. It's a responsibility that we take very seriously but also enjoy tremendously.
